New Delhi, July 13: The Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory regarding restrictions and regulations on vehicular movement due to the rising water level of the Yamuna river.

As per the advisory, traffic movement has been disrupted on several routes, including Mahatma Gandhi Marg between IP flyover and Chandgi Ram Akhara, Mahatma Gandhi Marg between Kalighat Mandir and Delhi Secretariat, and Outer Ring Road between Wazirabad Bridge and Chandgi Ram Akhara. Commuters are advised to avoid these roads and plan their journeys accordingly.

To manage the situation, non-destined commercial vehicles will not be permitted to enter Delhi and will be diverted to the Eastern and Western Peripheral Expressways. Diversion for commercial vehicles will start from Mukarba Chowk. Additionally, no commercial vehicles will be allowed between Mukarba Chowk and Wazirabad Bridge.

Furthermore, commercial vehicles will also be redirected from Sarai Kale Khan, and no such vehicles will be allowed between Sarai Kale Khan and IP flyover. Diversion for these vehicles will be in place from Ghazipur border and Akshardham towards DND. Lastly, no commercial vehicles will be permitted between Akshardham and Sarai Kale Khan.

The advisory aims to ensure smooth traffic flow and ease congestion in light of the current flood situation caused by the rising water levels of the Yamuna river. Commuters are urged to stay updated with the traffic advisories and make necessary adjustments to their travel plans.
