Asia Cup Hockey For women - India remains unbeaten: India defeated Malaysia 2-0 for its third consecutive win from as many matches in the Asia Cup Hockey For women Tournament in Gifu, Japan today.
With this win, India tops pool A with a maximum of nine points. India had beaten Singapore 10-0 and China 4-1 in earlier games.
Though India has already qualified for the 2018 Women's World Cup Hockey Tournament to be played in London, a title triumph here will boost the morale of the team that did not do very well in recent times.
The new coach of the women's team, Harendra Singh, who led India Junior men to title triumph in the last World Cup in Lucknow, is now in the command of the team.
India now plays its next game on November 2 after a rest day tomorrow.
