Twitter accounts of Obama, Gates and other prominent hacked in Bitcoin scam

In a major incident, some unidentified hackers broke into the Twitter accounts including those of technology moguls, politicians, celebrities, and major companies on Wednesday in a Bitcoin scam. There were some fake tweets from former President Barack Obama, Democratic presidential front-runner Joe Biden, Mike Bloomberg, and a number of tech billionaires, including Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Among the celebrities, the Twitter accounts of Kanye West and his wife, Kim Kardashian West, were also hacked. As per the report, the bogus tweets offered to send USD 2,000 for every USD 1,000 sent to an anonymous Bitcoin id. While reacting to the incident, Jack Dorsey, Twitter CEO, stated that "Tough day for us at Twitter. We all feel terrible this happened. We’re diagnosing and will share everything we can when we have a more complete understanding of exactly what happened."
