Market insights for February 7: Your essential guide for today's trading session
PTC News Desk: In the latest stock market update, early trading in the Asia-Pacific region saw most markets on an upward trajectory, following overnight gains on Wall Street. The S&P ASX 200 climbed 0.56% while the KOSPI index surged 1.22%. However, Japan's Nikkei 225 trended downward by 0.19%.
Investors turned their attention to the U.S. bond market, which rebounded after a two-day slump. The focus now shifts to Federal Reserve speakers for insights into potential rate adjustments in light of recent economic data.
On Wall Street, both the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 saw modest gains of 0.23%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 0.37%.
In commodities, Brent crude oil rose by 0.77% to $78.59 per barrel, while gold experienced a slight dip to $2,034.77 per ounce.
Indian markets closed higher on Tuesday, with IT stocks driving the gains. The Nifty 50 climbed 0.72% to 21,929.4, and the Sensex rose 0.63% to 72,186.09. Intraday, the Nifty gained 0.83% and the Sensex rose by 0.7%.
Foreign investors continued to show interest in Indian equities, marking the third consecutive session of net buying. However, domestic institutional investors turned net sellers, offloading equities worth Rs 1,096.3 crore. The Indian rupee closed flat against the U.S. dollar at Rs 83.05.
