BJP pulls out of alliance with PDP in J&K, CM Mehbooba Mufti resigns

She has called an emergency meeting of her party ministers at 4.00 pm. Meanwhile, Naeem Akhtar, PDP said, 'We will talk in detail at 5pm, meanwhile she (Mehbooba Mufti) has submitted her resignation (as J&K CM) to the Governor' The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday pulled out of its alliance with PDP in Jammu and Kashmir, said General Secretary Ram Madhav. “It has become untenable for the BJP to continue in the alliance government in Jammu and Kashmir,” he added. BJP president Amit Shah held an urgent meeting of Jammu and Kashmir BJP ministers and some top leaders in the national capital on Tuesday. The BJP central leadership deliberated on the party’s strategy in the state ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls and also took stock of the political situation in Jammu and Kashmir, sources said.
