This decision is not in favour but against Punjab. The Congress Party will not be able to come out of this shock for a long time," Dhiman said. He further claimed that the new PCC Chief would not be accepted as the leader as he "lacks the requisite support". "We cannot say he is a better leader. He is the most corrupt one. He has been accused of selling the tickets in the states while heading the youth Congress. We cannot hope for anything from such leaders. He is a novice and opportunist," Dhiman said. Surjit Dhiman heaped praise on Navjot Singh Sidhu and said that Sidhu worked for the party selflessly and was in touch with the party workers even after he was removed as the PCC chief. "On the other hand, Raja Warring fell at the feet of the Badals and compromised with them," Dhiman said. When contacted, Navjot Singh Sidhu's media advisor Surinder Dalla said that "Sidhu was a victim of internal politics and the party high command failed to utilise his potential". "Navjot Sidhu is the victim of the internal politics of the party. Sidhu's potential and talent were not utilised properly. Injustice to Sidhu means injustice to Punjab," Surinder Dalla told India Today. It is worth mentioning here that Navjot Singh Sidhu contacted the former MLAs and his supporters after he was asked to tender his resignation by the party high command. His supporters were demanding that Sidhu be given the responsibility of PCC chief again. Meanwhile, many leaders of his camp, including former MLA Batala Ashwini Shekhari, former Jandiala MLA and working president PCC Sukhwinder Singh Danny, met Navjot Sidhu at his Amritsar residence on Sunday.
