Ludhiana, March 29: On Tuesday, a closed door meeting of prominent congress leaders was held in Ludhiana. Accompanied by former Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu at the residence of former MLA Rakesh Pandey in South City, Ludhiana meeting was attended by  MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira, Sher Singh Ghubaya, former MLA Surinder Dawar, former MLA Pirmal Singh, former MLA Tarlochan Singh Banga, former MLA Jagdev Singh. Also ReadCM Bhagwant Mann announces doorstep ration delivery scheme in Punjab After the meeting, Jalandhar Congress spokesperson Kamaljit Singh Brar while talking to media said, “It is high time for us to come together, introspect to figure out a way via which we can bring party back on track.  Those who attended the meeting reached a consensus that the party should be lead by a strong headed man like Navjot singh Sidhu, but at the end high command has the upper hand. Senior leadership will give the final verdict about this.” Navjot Singh Sidhu on March 16 resigned from the post of Punjab Congress chief, a day after Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi sought the resignations of party chiefs of five states in order to facilitate the reorganization of the Pradesh Congress Committees. "As desired by the Congress President I have sent my resignation," Sidhu said in a tweet as he posted the one line resignation letter. Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi on sought the resignations of state party chiefs of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur to put in their resignations in order to facilitate reorganisation of the Pradesh Congress Committees.
