Instead of taking kits from the centre, we're buying from the market: Delhi Health Minister

While coronavirus cases have been rising at a rapid pace, the Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said that "We don't need specific support from the Centre as long as they don't object to more testing." Delhi Health Minister said that "Instead of taking kits from the centre, we're buying from the market." He further said that "we also hope COVID-19 ends till Diwali." Delhi has so far reported 1,73,390 coronavirus cases out of which 14,793 are active cases, 1,54,171 COVID patients have been cured and discharged while 4,426 have died due to the pandemic. Recently, Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan had also said that India's COVID-19 tally will be "under control" by Diwali this year. During the inauguration of the 'Nation First' webinar series, organised by the Anathkumar Foundation, Harsh Vardhan pointed out that the country was much ahead in battling the pandemic. He had also said that India is conducting around 1 million tests per day which is way ahead of the target.
