The total number of coronavirus cases in India has increased to 88,74,291 after 29,164 new COVID-19 infections were reported in the last 24 hours, as of Tuesday morning.
Meanwhile, the death toll due to COVID-19 in Delhi has mounted to 1,30,519 after 449 new deaths were reported from the country.
The total number of active coronavirus cases in India stands at 4,53,401 after a decrease of 12,077 in the last 24 hours.
The total discharged cases stand at 82,90,371 with 40,791 new discharges in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry stated while giving a coronavirus update.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 12,65,42,907 samples have been tested for COVID-19 up to November 16. Of these, 8,44,382 samples were tested on Monday.
Meanwhile, the Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan on Monday chaired the 147th WHO Executive Board meeting via video conferencing.
“We must engender in our health workforces a desire to make a real difference in the post-COVID world,” he said.
“2020 has been the year of collaborative action with countries across the world collectively battling the pandemic,” he added.
He also applauded the efforts of member states for fighting overwhelming challenges like poverty, inequality, pollution, and now COVID-19.
