Covid-19: Delhi lifts weekend curfew; schools to remain closed

In view of declining cases of coronavirus in the national capital, the Delhi Government on Thursday announced to lift the weekend curfew. The decision on the reopening of schools would be taken up in the next DDMA meeting. In a DDMA meeting on Thursday, several decisions were taken over Covid-19 curbs in Delhi. While weekend curfew has been lifted in Delhi, the night curfew will remain in force. Likewise, the odd-even scheme would also be lifted. The DDMA has ordered 50 percent capacity for bars, restaurants, and cinema halls. The Govt offices would operate with 50 percent capacity, the sources said. Earlier in the day, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said that the Covid-19 situation is under control. "Today, Delhi will report less than 5,000 cases and the positivity rate will also come down from the existing 10 percent."
