Covid-19: India logs 1,581 fresh cases, 33 deaths in last 24 hours
India Covid-19 update: India recorded 1,549 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, taking the infection tally to 43,010,971. The active caseload in India now stands at 23,913, according to the update by the Union health ministry.
Over the course of 24 hours, the active Covid-19 caseload was reduced by 1,193 cases. While, the Covid-19 death toll jumped to 5,16,543 with 33 new infection fatalities, informed the health ministry at 8 am, Tuesday.
According to the government, active cases account for 0.06 percent of total infections, with a national Covid-19 recovery rate of 98.74 percent.
Furthermore, as per the update by the health ministry, the daily positivity rate was 0.28 percent and the weekly positivity rate was 0.39 percent.

The number of patients who have recovered from the infection in the country has increased to 4,24,70,515, with a 1.20 percent case fatality rate.
The total number of doses administered in the country as part of the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination effort has surpassed 181.56 crore.
Covid-19 vaccination for children aged 12 to 14 years old began on March 16, 2022. The first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine has been given to over 34 lakh (34,19,633) adolescents so far.
On January 16, 2021, the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination programme began. The new phase of Covid-19 vaccination universalization began on June 21, 2021. The vaccination campaign has been boosted by the availability of more vaccines, better transparency of vaccine availability for States and UTs to enable better planning and a more efficient vaccine supply chain.
The Union Government will also procure and supply (free of cost) 75 percent of the vaccines being produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country to States and UTs.
