Covid-19: India logs 4,510 new cases in last 24 hours

New Delhi, September 21: India logged 4,510 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed on Wednesday. The daily case positivity rate has been reported at 1.33 per cent, while the active cases in the country stand at 46,216. According to the Ministry, 5,640 Covid patients recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of recoveries in the country reached 4,39,72,980. The recovery rate was reported at 98.71 per cent. The weekly positivity rate is at 1.80 per cent.

The total number of vaccine doses administered in the country to date is 216.95 crore. As part of the Nationwide Vaccination Drive, the Government of India has been providing free Covid vaccines to states and union territories. In the new phase of the COVID-19 vaccination drive, the Union Government would procure and supply (at no cost) to States and UTs 75 per cent of the vaccines manufactured in the country by vaccine manufacturers.
