Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), February 12: As the Covid-19 situation in Uttar Pradesh improves, the state government has decided to ease the pandemic restrictions and reopen the schools for classes nursery to 8 in adherence with coronavirus protocols from Monday. According to the official order, the state government has also permitted gyms, swimming pools, restaurants and offices to function, as usual, directing them to adhere to all the Covid-19 guidelines. The water parks, however, will remain shut. Junior classes to resume in UP “Schools will reopen for classes Nursery to 8 from February 14 with the strict following of Covid protocols till further orders. Gyms, swimming pools, restaurants, hotels and cinema halls will operate as earlier while water parks will remain shut,” according to the order issued. Meanwhile, across the state, schools for classes 9 to 12 and all degree colleges reopened on February 7. Junior classes to resume in UP Uttar Pradesh reported 2,321 new Covid-19 cases and 13 deaths in 24 hours on Friday. Now, the active caseload in the state is recorded at 18,016, as per Union Health Ministry data. Lucknow reported the highest number of new Covid-19 cases with 318, while the rest of the districts had less than 100 new infections. There have been no new cases in Firozabad. Junior classes to resume in UP According to state health department data, Jhansi reported 75 new cases, Gautam Buddh Nagar logged 60, Lakhimpur Khiri recorded 90, Varanasi 59, Prayagraj recorded 49, Rae Bareli 43, Shahjahanpur 90 and Hathras one case. Meanwhile, India reported a total of 58,077 fresh Covid-19 cases on Friday, taking the country’s active caseload to 6,97,802 at present.
