PTC Web Desk:  In a major initiative aimed at supporting civil services aspirants, the Young Progressive Sikh Forum (YPSF) has started the registration process for its free UPSC and PCS coaching programme for the new academic session.

The organisation, which has been actively working in the field of education and social welfare for several years, announced that selected students will receive completely free coaching, accommodation, food and other essential facilities in Chandigarh.

Sharing details about the initiative, YPSF president Dr Prabhleen Singh said the forum had continuously worked for school education, higher education and especially for the children of ragis, pathis, kirtaniyas and pujaris. He said the organisation’s efforts over the last two years have delivered encouraging results.

According to the organisation, one girl from a batch of 17 students successfully cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination, while another student reached the interview stage. Besides this, 12 students cleared the State PCS preliminary examination and have appeared for the mains examination.

Dr Prabhleen Singh stated that the institution is committed to helping talented students who are unable to afford expensive coaching and living expenses associated with civil services preparation.

He added that all expenses related to accommodation, meals, dress and high-quality coaching in Chandigarh will be borne by the organisation with the support of donors.

This year, YPSF is launching two special batches. One batch is meant for graduate students preparing for UPSC and PCS examinations, while a new foundation batch has been introduced for students who have recently completed Class 12. Under this programme, students will prepare for UPSC alongside their graduation studies.

The new academic session will commence from July 1. The organisation said the selection process will include registration, a written examination and personal interviews, which will be completed within the next one-and-a-half months.

Interested candidates can register by contacting the helpline number 98729-98720. The organisation said shortlisted students will be contacted directly after the registration process.
