Covid-19 vaccine: Seven firms in India have license for manufacturing vaccine
The Union Health Ministry on Friday informed the Lok Sabha during the Monsoon session that the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) there has been no report regarding the deviation from the standard procedures in research and development of Covid-19 vaccine.
The Minister of State (MoS) Health, Ashwini Kumar Choubey, informed the Lok Sabha that the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation has granted test license permission for the manufacturing of Covid-19 vaccine for the pre-clinical test, examination and analysis to 7 firms.
The Health Minister said that “We hope that we will get a vaccine by the beginning of the next year. We are coordinating with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the other bodies regarding the same."
India is among the few countries that managed to isolate the novel coronavirus, he said, adding that there are around 40,000 samples that are being studied.
