Delhi: Drunk Audi driver runs over 5 people sleeping on footpath, arrested
PTC News Desk: In a horrific incident, a drunk Audi drive ran over five people sleeping on a footpath near Shiva Camp in southwest Delhi’s Vasant Vihar. The crash occurred around 1:45 am on July 9, police confirmed on Saturday, July 12. The victims were immediately rushed to a local hospital and are under going treatment.
The driver, identified as Utsav Shekhar (40), a Dwarka-based realtor, was arrested at the scene. He was reportedly driving home from Noida when the accident took place.
The victims have been identified as Ladhi (40), her daughter Bimla (8), husband Sabami alias Chirma (45), and Ram Chander (45), along with his wife Narayani (35). All are originally from Rajasthan.
Police officials said that they have registered a case against the accused and investigation is underway.
The medical test of the accused confirmed that he was under the influence of alcohol.
