Actor Madhavan appointed new President of Film and Television Institute of India

Madhavan appointed new FTII: R Madhavan, whose film 'Rocketry' recently received a National Award, has been nominated as the President and Chairman of the governing council of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII).

The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) has appointed R Madhavan as its President. 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect,' the actor's directorial debut, recently won the National Award for Best Feature Film.


Union Minister Anurag Thakur made the announcement on platform X (previously known as Twitter) and wished the National Award-winning actor well.

"Heartiest congratulations to @ActorMadhavan ji on being nominated as President of @FTIIOfficial and Chairman of the governing council. I'm sure that your vast experience & strong ethics will enrich this institute, bring positive changes, & take it to a higher level. My best wishes to you," the Union Minister said.

The actor resorted to social media to express his feelings for being nominated as President of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). "Thank you so very much for the honor and kind wishes @ianuragthakur Ji. I will do my very best to live up to all the expectations," the actor wrote.
