At Delhi concert, Diljit Dosanjh breaks his silence on ‘Satluj’ trolling: 'Don’t teach Punjabis how to fight'
PTC Web Desk: Diljit Dosanjh has never been one to shy away from a big stage, but on the opening night of his Aura India Tour 2026, the moment that got everyone talking was not a song. It was a straight, unfiltered message to those who have been mocking his film Satluj.
Performing in front of a packed Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in the capital, the singer-actor paused to address the online noise that has followed the film for weeks. His tone was calm, but the message was firm.
“I love all of you because I am an artist, bro,” Diljit told the crowd. He said he had chosen to stay quiet so far and would prefer to keep it that way, adding that he stands with everyone. Then came the line that is now doing the rounds on social media: “Don’t teach Punjabis how to fight.”
He then spoke about the film itself. Diljit said the project, based on the life of Jaswant Singh Khalra, was one the team had to struggle for over a long period and that it was painful to see it become a subject of ridicule. Even so, he made it clear there was no bitterness on his part. “If someone hates us, it’s okay. But I love all of you,” he said.

Who was Jaswant Singh Khalra?
Satluj tells the story of Khalra, the Punjab human rights activist who drew attention to alleged illegal killings and secret cremations during the late 1980s and early 1990s, when the state was gripped by militancy and counter-insurgency operations.
Khalra himself was “disappeared” in 1995. His body was later found near the Harike Bridge on the Sutlej River. He was allegedly abducted, tortured and killed at the behest of Punjab Police officials of that time.
A short and rocky OTT run
The controversy around the film has been building for months. Satluj premiered on ZEE5 on July 3 this year, but was pulled from the platform within just two days, a development that triggered heated discussion online.
Aura tour off to a sold-out start
Away from the controversy, the evening was a massive success for Diljit. The Delhi show, the first stop of the RuPay Aura India Tour 2026, was completely sold out. The tour is co-produced and promoted by BookMyShow Live, the live entertainment arm of BookMyShow, along with Live Nation, and will travel to several cities across the country after the hugely successful international run of Aura.
