Diljit Dosanjh's 'Chamkila' nominated in multiple categories for SWA 2025
PTC News Desk: Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh's one of the most celebrated and controversial film 'Chamkila' has been nominated in several categories for Screen Writers Association Awards 2025.
The film has been nominated for Best Story, Screenplay, Dialogue and Songs. The 7th edition of the SWA Awards will be held on August 9, 2025, which will honor the best films, web series and TV shows of 2024.
Amar Singh Chamkila emerged as one of the most talked-about films of 2024, chronicling the life of Punjab’s fearless and controversial 1980s singer. Diljit Dosanjh took on the titular role, while Parineeti Chopra portrayed Amarjot Kaur.
Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the film received widespread acclaim for its compelling narrative and evocative music. Lyricist Irshad Kamil was nominated for five songs that deeply resonated with audiences, adding emotional richness to the story. Known for his strong storytelling and dialogue, Imtiaz Ali delivered yet another standout work with this film.
