'Pooja Bhatt's brother assaulted me, Mahesh Bhatt planted false stories in media,' alleges Ranvir Shorey
PTC News Desk: Ranvir Shorey, who was in a relationship with actor-filmmaker Pooja Bhatt in the early 2000s, recently spoke with Siddharth Kannan about their highly reported and dramatic breakup.
The actor, who finished second runner-up in Bigg Boss OTT 3, has now claimed that star Pooja Bhatt's brother physically abused him following their separation. During an interview with Siddharth Kannan for his YouTube channel, Ranvir also claimed that Pooja's father, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, spread false stories about him.
When asked about his past relationship with Pooja, the actor stated, "At the time we had a conflict, I think that the respect I had for him, he used it manipulatively. When the fight took place, he said to my father, 'Ok, we will settle the matter here, whatever the dispute was between the kids.' The next day, he published outright lies about me and planted fake stories in the media, portraying me as an alcoholic abusive person. All lies!"
He continued, "Her brother was the one who assaulted me. He (Mahesh Bhatt) might have told these guys not to talk like that. In that sense, I believed he was manipulative towards me. These are all 25-year-old stories; I don't want to delve into them right now."
Ranvir made his acting debut in Shashilal Nair's Ek Choti Si Love Story, alongside Manisha Koirala in the lead. He later appeared in a number of Hindi films, including Khosla Ka Ghosla, Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Bheja Fry, Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd., Singh Is Kinng, A Death In The Gunj, and Sonchiriya. The actor's most recent successful theatrical release was Tiger 3, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif.
