Farmers observe Sadbhavana Diwas on martyrdom day of Mahatma Gandhi
In wake of increasing tension at Delhi borders, farmers are observing Sadbhavana Diwas on the occasion of martyrdom day of Mahatma Gandhi Ji, one-day fast, as announced by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha. The Morcha had stated that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was giving a communal angle to the peasant movement of farmers against the farm laws 2020. Also Read | All Lives Matter: Another George Floyd incident, this one in India In a statement issued over the recent violence at Singhu border and tension at Ghazipur border, the Samyukta Kisan Morcha stated that the BJP government was now giving a communal color to the ongoing peaceful farmers' movement for legal guarantee of MSP and against three farm laws 2020. It further stated that the way the government has tried to spoil the atmosphere at Ghazipur border and the Singhu border for the last 3 days proves that the police and BJP-RSS are desperately plotting to kill this movement. Meanwhile, the farmers had announced that a fast will be observed from 9 am to 5 pm at borders and the protest sites across India on Saturday, on the occasion of martyrdom day of Mahatma Gandhi Ji and the day will be marked as Sadbhavana Diwas. This was planned to spread the values of truth and non-violence. "The way the government was spreading lies and violence was condemnable," it stated. -PTC News
