Farmers protest enters second day, holds protest against state government outside banks Farmers across the state hold a protest agains the state government outside banks in 13 district. The  Bhartiya Kisan Union (Ugrahan) had given a call which would continue their protest for five days.Farmers hold a protest at Sangrur, Patiala, Barnala and Machhiwara (Ludhiana) , Bathinda, Muktsar, Jalalabad, Ferozepur and Faridkot. They alleged that, the congress government had promised to waive off their loans but state government backtracked from their promises. Due to lack of money in accounts, cheques bounce and fraud cases are being registered against the farmers. Farmers demanded that the blank cheques should be returned immediately as they can be misused.
