Former Qila Raipur MLA Jasbir Singh Khangura and his father quits Congress Party

Ludhiana, January 30:  Indian national Congress receives another jolt in Ludhiana; former MLA from Qila Raipur and prominent businessman Jassi Khangura resigned from the party on Sunday. Also Read | PM Narendra Modi to address 2022's first 'Mann ki Baat' In his resignation letter addressed to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Khangura didn't state any reason for his decision. He posted the letter on Twitter and said, "The decisions we take determine our fate. My resignation from INC, the only Indian political party I have ever been a member of." As per Khangura's letter, his father, who was associated with Congress for 60 years, has also resigned. Khangura wanted a ticket from either Sahnewal or Amargarh constituencies but as Congress party has fielded other candidates from both seats, Khangura resigned, sources said. According to sources, more trouble for Congress is fomenting today and more resignations are expected from prominent Ludhiana leaders. This is because the party will announce its candidate list from Ludhiana South constituency that will be finalized today.
