Former Shiv Sena corporator stabbed to death in Mumbai
Ashok Sawant, a Shiv Sena leader and ex-corporator in Mumbai was stabbed to death on Sunday. The incident took place at around 10:45 pm near his residence by two unknown assailants.
Ashok Sawant, 62, a two-term corporator from Samata Nagar in suburban Kandivli, was attacked with choppers while he was returning home after meeting a friend around 11 pm.
Samta Nagar Police were also trying to determine if there was a CCTV anywhere near the scene of the crime.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital hut was declared dead on arrival.
Sawant had entered the cable television business a few years ago.
