Gandhi Jayanti likely to be a ‘Vegetarian Day' for Indian Railways
The Indian Railway Board will witness a 'Vegetarian Day' to mark the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. The railways will not be including any non-vegetarian items in the meal served on that day.
The Railway Board has planned that no non-vegetarian food will be served to passengers on railway premises on October 2 in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
It also includes ‘Swachhta Express' for Sabarmati and adjoining stations. Giving it another addition, the board has also proposed for Mahatma Gandhi watermarked tickets.
Ministry of Culture, headed by Bharatiya Janata party's Mahesh Sharma will give approvals for the same.
