Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh named accused in Guru Granth Sahib sacrilege case

The name of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Ram Rahim Singh has been included in an FIR lodged against 7 Dera followers in a case of sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Jalandhar range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ranbir Singh Khatra, who is heading the Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up to probe the case, shared the information. On July 4, the SIT had arrested 7 people from Faridkot district in connection with a sacrilege incident that led to statewide protests in 2015.
