Haryana: – Polling underway for Jind Vidhan sabha seat amid high security
Peaceful polling is underway for Jind assembly by-polls amid high security. The voting began at 7 am and will continue till 5 pm. The counting of the votes will take place on January 31.

There are a total of 1.71 lakh voters, belonging to the Jat , Punjabi, Brahmin and other communities.

As many as 3,000 policemen, 500 home guards and over 200 personnel have been drawn from the CRPF and the Rapid Action Force has been deployed in Jind to ensure peaceful and smooth conduct of polling.

The election was necessitated after the demise of Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) MLA Hari Chand Middha in August 2018. A total of 21 candidates are in the fray for the seat.
