The day has finally come! India is celebrating its 75th Independence Day and Ola Electric has launched its electric scooters --- S1 and S1 Pro in the country.
The S1 has an ex-showroom price of Rs 99,999 while the S1 Pro costs Rs 1,29,999. Both scooters will be available for purchase from September 8 and deliveries will begin in October. Customers will also be able to purchase the scooters on EMI of Rs 2,999 per month. The effective price of the S1 drops to as low as Rs 79,999 in Gujrat, thanks to huge subsidies offered on electric vehicles.

Speaking of the range and the top speed, these are certainly class-leading figures as the S1 Pro can reach a maximum of 115 kmph and is able to deliver a 181 range on a single full charge. In terms of key features, the S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters get bits like voice assistant, in built speakers, cruise control, hill hold assist, touchscreen, and a lot more.

Ola S1, S1 Pro: charge time: The S1 and S1 Pro come with a portable home charger that can fully charge the scooters in a claimed 4.48 hours and 6.30 hours, respectively. The company has plans to develop an Ola Hypercharger network, which it claims will be “the world’s largest, densest, fastest 2W charging network with 1 lakh locations across 400 cities.” With this charger, the company promises adding a claimed 75km range in 18 minutes.
Ola Electric scooter vs rivals: price comparison
With a starting price of Rs 1 lakh, the Ola electric scooter undercuts Delhi prices of rivals like the TVS iQube (Rs 1.01 lakh), Bajaj Chetak (Rs 1.42 lakh) and the Ather 450 (starts at Rs 1.13 lakh). Ex-showroom Delhi prices for India’s best-selling scooter, the Honda Activa 6G ranges between Rs 69,080-72,325, while the more-powerful Activa 125 will set you back by Rs 72,637-79,760, depending on the variant.

S1 does snot come with key!
An interesting thing about the S1 is that it does not come with a key. It can sense the user approaching the scooter or going away and accordingly unlock or lock itself. One can start the scooter using the mobile app or the touchscreen display.

Gujarat will be the state where Ola Electric S1 and S1 Pro will be the most affordable after applying the subsidies under Gujarat EV policy and FAME-II scheme as well. The S1 will be available at ₹79,999 in the state, while the S1 Pro will be priced at ₹109,999.
The Delhi Government's EV policy is one of the most comprehensive electric vehicle policies with demand incentives offered under it. The S1 and S1 Pro in the national capital will be available at ₹85,099 and ₹110,149, respectively.
In Maharashtra, S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters will be available at ₹94,999 and ₹124,999, respectively. In Rajasthan, the prices of S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters will be ₹89,968 and ₹119,138, respectively. Ola Electric says that the S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters will be available at ₹99,999 and ₹129,999 respectively in all other states.
