IMD issues rainfall warning in 19 states/UTs over next 5 days
IMD weather report: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday said that widespread rainfall is very likely over 19 states and UTs, including Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh.
In its weather report for 19 states, the IMD stated that widespread rainfall is very likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand during the next two days and the scattered rainfall for the subsequent three days.

Other states and UTs which are predicted to receive rainfall over the next five days are Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.
The IMD stated that isolated light rainfall is very likely over north Punjab, north Haryana, and Chandigarh during the next 5 days; over Uttar Pradesh during February 24-26, and over north Rajasthan on February 22, 2022.
Isolated thunderstorm and lightning activity likely over north Punjab, north Haryana, and Chandigarh during the next 2 days. Strong surface winds (25-35 kmph) are also very likely to prevail over Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh on February 22, 2022.
Meanwhile, isolated to scattered light and moderate rainfall is very likely over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal, and Sikkim; scattered to fairly widespread rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura during February 24 and 26 with thunderstorm and lightning activity over the region on February 25, 2022.
Several areas of Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh witnessed a little bit of rainfall on February 22.
