India sees dip in Covid-19 cases, logs 1,569 new infections

New Delhi, May 17: India reported a dip in Covid-19 cases with 1,569 new infections reported in the last 24 hours, said the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday.

On Monday, the country reported 2,202 fresh infections. With the new cases, India's active caseload stands at 16,400, accounting for 0.04 percent of the total cases.

The daily positivity rate of the country has been recorded at 0.44 percent.

As many as 2,467 patients recovered from Covid in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 4,25,84,710. The recovery rate now stands at 98.75%.

Meanwhile, 19 people died of Covid-19 infection, stated the Ministry on Tuesday.

India's coronavirus vaccination coverage has exceeded 191.48 crores as total 1,91,48,94,858 people have been vaccinated under the Nationwide vaccination Drive.

In terms of vaccination, 1,078,005 more doses of the Covid-19 vaccine were administered.

According to the Health Ministry, India conducted 3,57,484 Covid-19 tests in the last 24 hours.
