Lieutenant Shivangi, first woman Naval officer, is all set to join operations in Kochi two days ahead of Navy Day on December 4, 2019. Shivangi, who belongs to Muzaffarpur, Bihar, completed her schooling from DAV Public school in Muzaffarpur. She was inducted into the Navy as SSC (Pilot) as part of the 27 NOC course in the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala and was commissioned by Vice- Admiral A K Chawla in June last year. Sub Lieutenant Shivangi, said "I have been craving for this since a very long time and finally it is here, so it's a great feeling. I am looking forward to complete my 3rd stage of training." https://www.ptcnews.tv/air-marshal-arvindra-singh-butola-inspects-tettra-school/ There were no women pilots in the Navy's aviation branch, which had women officers operating in air traffic control and observers in the aircraft responsible for communication and weapons. Shivangi was trained at the Southern Naval Command in Kochi. She will get authorisation to fly Dornier aircraft on December 2. This is a first in India’s Naval history. Bhawna Kanth became the first woman pilot of the Indian Air Force earlier this year. Apart from Bhawna, Mohana Singh and Avni Chaturvedi also became fighter pilots. https://www.facebook.com/ptcnewsonline/videos/2454064308246832/ -PTC News
