MI vs KKR, IPL 2020 News: Quinton De Kock’s magnificent half-century led Mumbai Indians to a solid victory against Kolkata Knight Riders at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, on Friday.
Kolkata Knight Riders, led by newly appointed skipper Eoin Morgan, won the toss and elected to bat first. While giving. a target, KKR put 148-5 in 20 overs.
The opening department of KKR failed to perform while Captain Morgan and team’s highest bid Pat Cummins led the team to a fighting total.
The defending-champions Mumbai Indians started with its usual opening combination of Rohit Sharma and Quinton De Kock.
While Rohit Sharma scored 35 runs off 36 balls before getting dismissed by Shivam Mavi, Quinton De Kock played till the end.
De Kock scored 78 runs off 44 balls including 9 boundaries and 3 sixes. MI’s magnificent win also featured a cameo of Hardik Pandya who scored 21 off 11 balls including 3 boundaries and a six.
Meanwhile, Quinton De Kock was named man of the match for his exceptional innings during MI vs KKR match.
With this, Mumbai Paltan has reached the top spot in IPL 2020 Points Table, followed by Delhi Capitals, which has emerged as one of the leading contenders for the IPL trophy.
