Kavinder Gupta takes oath as Jammu Kashmir Deputy CM Gandhinagar MLA Kavinder Gupta takes oath as Deputy Chief minister in Jammu and Kashmir Government on Monday afternoon. He replaces Dr. Nirmal Singh as Deputy Chief Minister of the State. A day before the much awaited Cabinet reshuffle, Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh on Sunday stepped down from the post on the directive of the BJP high command. BJP's General Secreatry Ram Madhav on Monday denied any links between the reshuffle and the Kathua rape case. "The cabinet reshuffle has nothing to do with the Kathua incident. Our government has completed three years and we decided to give a chance to new faces. 5 members of the party will be sworn-in as ministers today," he said. -PTC News
