Punjab Assembly Elections 2022: Kharar constituency is located in the Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district of Punjab. It is one of the 117 seats of Punjab Vidhan Sabha. Aam Aadmi Party's Kanwar Sandhu won the last assembly elections and is the current MLA of Kharar. He won the 2017 elections by defeating Jagmohan Singh Kang of Congress with a margin of 2,012 votes. Voters According to the voter list for the 2017 assembly elections, the total number of voters in the constituency is 2,20,994. 249 polling stations were established by the election commission during these elections. A total of 1,59,411 votes were cast in the Kharar constituency and the percentage was 72.13%, which was recorded lower than the state average. Candidates Aam Aadmi Party's Kanwar Sandhu, Shiromani Akali Dal's Ranjit Singh Gill and Congress' Jagmohan Singh Kang were MLA candidates for the Kharar constituency in 2017 Punjab assembly elections. Kanwar Sandhu (AAP) won 54,171 votes, while Jagmohan Singh Kang (Congress) got 52,159 votes. Ranjit Singh Gill (SAD) managed to get 46,807 votes.
