Ludhiana woman gets life imprisonment for killing 2 minor daughters A woman on Thursday was sentenced to life imprisonment by a local court for killing her two minor daughters in May 2016. The accused, Manjinder kaur, who is 27 years old, attempted to commit suicide after killing her two daughters — five-year-old Leeza and two -year-old Aksra. The court of additional district and sessions judge Virinder Aggarwal convicted the woman, a resident of Ludhiana’s Gill Colony, of murder under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). As per the prosecution case, an FIR was registered on May 20, 2016 by the Daba police on the statement of Manjinder’s husband Jagtar Masih, a truck driver. He had stated that he married Manjinder Kaur of Phagwara seven years ago (2009) and they had two minor daughters. As per his complaint, on returning home after three days on May 20, he found the main door of his residence locked. When he entered the house after breaking the lock, he found bodies of his daughters wrapped in a quilt, and his wife was nowhere to be found. -PTC News
