Mumbai Airport Customs seizes 1.3 kgs of cocaine at international airport
Mumbai (Maharashtra), September 3: The Mumbai Airport Customs seized 1.3 kgs of cocaine worth Rs 13 crore at the Mumbai International Airport, sources said on Saturday.
The police also held one passenger from Ghana who was intercepted on August 28.
According to the information provided by the police, the accused had cocaine drugs concealed inside his stomach. The accused was taken to the hospital, where 87 capsules were found in his stomach. The Mumbai Police have filed a case against the accused and have started an inquiry.
In another case, Mumbai Customs busted a narcotics syndicate operating in Mumbai and smuggling drugs from the United States. The three people apprehended were involved in the trafficking of drugs from the United States.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman tweeted, "Being alert to prevent the drug menace! Well done."
