17-year-old girl falls off bicycle after miscreants pull her 'dupatta', dies as bike runs over
PTC News Desk: A 17-year-old girl was crushed to death in Uttar Pradesh's Ambedkar Nagar on Friday when two miscreants tugged her dupatta, forcing her to fall off her bicycle, and another biker ran over her, according to police.
Sanjay Rai, Additional Superintendent of Police in Ambedkar Nagar, stated, "We received a complaint yesterday evening that some men misbehaved with two girls who were returning from school. One girl fell off the bicycle and got hit by a bike coming from behind. The family has filed a complaint and the accused have been arrested. Further investigation is underway."
Nancy (17), the deceased, was on her way home from school with her cousin. On her way back to her home, the miscreants pulled her 'dupatta,' and due to loss of balance, she fell in the middle of the road along with the bicycle, and a bike coming from behind crushed the student.
The three accused, Shahbaz, Arbaaz, and Faisal, have been arrested.
Meanwhile, three people were shot in the leg in a police encounter after being nabbed on Saturday for harassing a schoolgirl and running her over with a motorcycle in Uttar Pradesh's Ambedkarnagar.
According to authorities, two of the accused, Shahbaz and Faisal, attempted to flee after medical treatment and were shot in the leg during a police contact. While running, the third accused, who is a minor, fractured his leg.
"After the arrest, a clash broke out between the police and the accused as they tried to snatch a police rifle and escape while the police were taking them for a medical check-up. Out of the three arrested, two of them were shot in the foot and are undergoing treatment at Baskhari Community Health Center amid heavy security”, police official stated.
“A week ago she had informed about the activities of the miscreants, regarding which the policemen deployed at the intersection were informed. But nothing was done by the police and eventually, our daughter lost her life. The miscreants should be hanged”, the deceased’s father said.
A case has been filed against the three arrested accused and further investigation is underway.
