Madhya Pradesh: 58 school children fall sick after eating meal on R-Day
PTC News Desk: As many as 58 children became ill as a result of suspected food poisoning after eating at a government school in Madhya Pradesh's Rewa district following the Republic Day celebrations, an official said.
The majority of them were in stable condition, while one girl has been admitted to a government hospital.
Dr K L Namdeo, district chief medical and health officer (CMHO), stated that the children were served poori-sabzi and laddoos following the flag-hoisting ceremony at the school in Peadri, Sirmaur.
Many of them became uneasy, with some complaining of vomiting and loose motions, he explained.
The children were rushed to a nearby community health centre. Dr Namdeo said that when one of the girl's condition worsened, she was taken to the Government Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Rewa for treatment.
