PTC Web Desk: The Haryana Police on Monday arrested a man, identified as Sachin, for the brutal murder of Congress worker Himani Narwal. According to the police, the accused used a mobile charger cable to strangle her at her residence in Vijay Nagar, Rohtak, before fleeing with her valuables.

Krishan Kumar Rao, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Rohtak Range, confirmed the arrest and provided details about the incident. "The accused, Sachin, runs a mobile shop in Jhajjar. He met the deceased through social media and frequently visited her home. On February 27, an argument broke out between them, leading to the murder. Sachin used a mobile charger cable to kill her before looting her jewellery, phone, and laptop," said ADGP Rao.

After committing the crime, Sachin allegedly packed Himani’s body in a suitcase and disposed of it in the bushes near the Sampla bus stand. The police later recovered the body and forensic teams were called in to collect evidence.

During interrogation, the police discovered bite marks and scratches on Sachin’s hands, indicating that Himani tried to defend herself. Sources also revealed that there were financial transactions between the two, which could have been a motive for the crime. The police have taken Sachin into custody for further investigation and to determine the exact reason behind the fatal altercation.

Victim’s family seeks justice

Following the arrest, Himani Narwal’s family has demanded the death penalty for the accused. Her brother, Jatin, urged the police to ensure strict punishment. "One accused has been arrested, and today we will cremate my sister. There are a lot of rumours circulating in the media, and I request everyone not to spread misinformation. We want justice for Himani and demand the death penalty for the accused," he stated.
