Delhi shocker: Actress Huma Qureshi’s cousin Asif murdered over parking dispute; CCTV footage surfaces
PTC Web Desk: A horrifying act of violence claimed the life of Asif Qureshi, cousin of Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi, in Delhi’s Nizamuddin area late Thursday night. The fatal scuffle, triggered by a parking dispute, was caught on CCTV and has now gone viral, shocking residents and netizens alike.
The incident occurred in Jangpura’s Bhogal Lane, where Asif reportedly confronted two neighbours—Gautam and Ujjwal—for blocking the main entrance of his house with their two-wheelers. The confrontation quickly turned physical and escalated to a brutal assault.
The chilling CCTV footage shows Asif being held by his collar during a verbal argument that spiraled out of control. The two men, identified as Gautam and Ujjwal, can be seen pushing Asif to the ground. Moments later, Gautam stabbed him repeatedly with an ice pick, causing severe injuries.
Asif’s wife, Sainaz Qureshi, and a few locals attempted to intervene and stop the attack, but their efforts were in vain. The injured Asif was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Both accused, Gautam and Ujjwal, have been arrested. The police said Gautam was a known drug addict, notorious in the locality for his violent outbursts and erratic behaviour. His brother Ujjwal plays the dholak at local religious functions.
The brothers reportedly have a dysfunctional family background, with their mother having left them at a young age. They were raised by their father alone, which, according to locals, contributed to their aggressive tendencies.
In her statement to the police, Sainaz Qureshi alleged that the altercation wasn’t the first between the families. The neighbours had previously quarreled with Asif over the same parking issue. On Thursday evening, when Asif returned from work, he found their vehicle once again blocking the entrance. When he asked them to remove it, the conversation escalated into abuse and eventually violence, she said.
