Ahmedabad plane crash: Black box data recovered as probe intensifies
PTC News Desk: In a significant breakthrough in Ahmedabad plane crash investigation, the Civil Aviation Ministry on Thursday confirmed that the data of Black Box has been recovered and downloaded. The Ministry said that they have begun the analysis of the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) and the Flight Data Recorder (FDR)—crucial for converging the causes behind the Jun 12 crash that killed 275 people.
These efforts are focused on piecing together the chain of events that led to the accident and determining the contributing factors to improve aviation safety and help prevent similar incidents in the future.
The memory module was successfully retrieved, and its data was downloaded at the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) laboratory, part of the crash investigation division under the Union Civil Aviation Ministry.
Additionally, the Crash Protection Module (CPM) from the front black box was safely retrieved, and on June 25, the memory module was successfully accessed, and its data subsequently downloaded.
Decoding the black box is significant in the investigation as it will provide an in depth insight to ascertain the cause of the crash and the moments before the tragedy itself.
