Air India's Delhi-London flight aborts takeoff due to technical glitch; passengers safe

PTC Web Desk: An Air India flight scheduled to operate from Delhi to London on July 31 had to abort takeoff at Indira Gandhi International Airport due to a suspected technical issue, the airline confirmed on Thursday.

According to an official statement, Flight AI2017 was preparing for departure when the cockpit crew detected a possible fault and, adhering to standard operating procedures, immediately discontinued the takeoff. The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner was safely returned to the bay for precautionary technical checks.

“In line with safety protocols, the crew made the decision to halt the takeoff and brought the aircraft back for inspection. Passenger safety is our top priority,” an airline spokesperson said.

While the exact number of passengers onboard was not disclosed, Air India has arranged for an alternative aircraft to transport travellers to London as soon as possible. The airline added that ground staff are providing necessary support and assistance to ensure minimal inconvenience for the affected passengers.
