Ayodhya recites 'Hanuman Chalisa' in support of Israel, urges global unity against terrorism
Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh), October 18: A collective recitation of 'Hanuman Chalisa Path' was organised to express solidarity with war-torn Israel. The group recital of the Hanuman Chalisa took place at the Ascetic Cantonment Temple in Ayodhya, a city associated with Lord Ram. Sages and saints from Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya graced the event with their presence.
Jagadguru Paramhans Acharya Maharaj Tapasvi of Cantonment Temple Ayodhya explained that the recitation of 1.25 lakh Hanuman Chalisa verses was performed as a gesture of support for Israel during Navratri, and this recitation was successfully completed on October 18.
Commenting on the Israel-Hamas conflict, Acharya said, "The ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine can be viewed as a struggle between humanity and terrorism. It is essential for all nations to stand in support of Israel, which is primarily fighting against terrorism."
Acharya further urged against associating terrorism with religion and called for vigilance against individuals within respective countries who may be praying in support of the terrorist organisation Hamas. He stressed the need for strict action against such individuals.
On the same day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his deep shock and condolences for the lives lost in an explosion at a hospital in Gaza. He also raised concerns about the escalating civilian casualties in the Israel-Hamas conflict and emphasised the importance of holding those responsible for such casualties accountable.
A hospital in Gaza City experienced a tragic explosion that resulted in the loss of hundreds of lives, according to the health authorities in the Hamas-run enclave, as reported by Reuters. A Gaza civil defense chief claimed on Al-Jazeera television that over 300 persons were killed in the hospital explosion.
The Israel-Hamas conflict entered its 12th day on Wednesday, and the war has already claimed over 4,000 lives since it began on October 7. Many people who have been displaced by the conflict sought refuge around hospitals in the hope of finding safety.
