Full China Statement:
On May 10, 2025, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, held a phone conversation with Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
Doval stated that the Pahalgam terrorist attack had caused significant casualties among Indian personnel, and that India needed to take counter-terrorism actions. He emphasized that war is not India's choice and does not serve the interests of any party. Both India and Pakistan are committed to maintaining the ceasefire and hope for the early restoration of regional peace and stability.
Wang Yi expressed China's condemnation of the Pahalgam terrorist attack and its opposition to all forms of terrorism. He noted that, given the current complex and volatile international situation, peace and stability in Asia are hard-won and should be cherished. India and Pakistan are neighboring countries that cannot be relocated, and both are also neighbors of China. China appreciates Doval’s statement that war is not India's choice and sincerely hopes that both sides will remain calm and exercise restraint, resolve differences through dialogue and consultation, and avoid further escalation. China supports and looks forward to India and Pakistan achieving a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire through negotiations, which is in the fundamental interests of both countries and the shared aspirations of the international community.

Indian Army neutralises over 50 Pakistani drones in major counter-drone operation along LoC and IB: Sources
In a significant escalation of cross-border tensions, the Indian Army successfully neutralised over 50 Pakistani drones during a large-scale counter-drone operation along the Line of Control (LoC) and International Borders (IB).
According to defence sources, swarm drones were launched from Pakistan targeting multiple locations including Udhampur, Samba, Jammu, Akhnoor, Nagrota, and Pathankot. The Indian Army’s Air Defence units swiftly responded, employing a comprehensive array of weaponry to eliminate the aerial threats.
The engagement involved extensive use of L-70 anti-aircraft guns, Zu-23mm, Schilka systems, and other advanced counter-unmanned aerial systems (UAS) equipment. The operation showcased the Indian Army’s robust capability to intercept and neutralize complex drone attacks across a wide operational area.
Sources emphasised that the swift action successfully averted any damage to critical infrastructure and safeguarded civilian areas along sensitive border regions. Security forces remain on high alert amid ongoing tensions.

US Vice-President JD Vance: India-Pakistan conflict 'none of our business'; urges de-escalation through diplomacy
US Vice-President JD Vance has stated that the ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan is "fundamentally none of our business," even as he and President Donald Trump encourage both nations to de-escalate tensions.
“What we can do is try to encourage these folks to de-escalate a little bit, but we're not going to get involved in the middle of a war that's fundamentally none of our business and has nothing to do with America's ability to control it,” Vance said in an interview with Fox News. “America can't tell the Indians to lay down their arms. We can't tell the Pakistanis to lay down their arms. So, we're going to continue to pursue this through diplomatic channels.”
Vance, a known advocate of US disengagement from international conflicts, emphasised that the administration’s hope is to prevent the situation from spiraling into a broader regional war or a nuclear confrontation. “Right now, we don't think that's going to happen,” he added.
His comments came as Pakistan reportedly made a failed attempt to attack military establishments in Jammu, Pathankot, and several other Indian cities.
