Karnataka Sex Scandal | Bharatiya Janata Party leader Deveraje Gowdahe who had flagged Prajwal Revanna sex scandal case has been arrested on Friday night in molestation and sexual harassment case.

Recently, Deveraje Gowda has been in the headlines because of the alleged obscene video issue involving Prajwal Revanna, the Hassan MP. Before the BJP merged with Janata Dal (Secular), Gowda had brought up the issue with the central leadership of the party in December of last year.

Deveraje Gowda was summoned to appear before the Special Investigation Team, which is looking into the Prajwal Revanna sex scandal case.

Gowda has been charged under the Information Technology Act of 2008 (66(E) and sections 354 (A), 354C, 448, 504, 506, 34 of the IPC. The offenses include voyeurism, sexual harassment, house trespassing, intentional insulting with the goal of provoking a breach of peace, and using criminal force against a lady with the intent to offend her modesty.

A day after the April 26 Lok Sabha election in the Hassan constituency, the sex scandal came to light. Videos of numerous women being sexually abused started making the rounds.

Currently, a Special Investigative Team (SIT) appointed by the Karnataka government is looking into charges of sexual harassment and criminal intimidation against Prajwal Revanna and his father, HD Revanna. The investigation was prompted by a complaint from a lady who worked in their home.
