BJP wins prestigious UP's Milkipur by poll, wrest Samajwadi party
PTC News Desk: Besides Delhi, BJP has also secured a sweeping victory in the UP's Milkipur by-election against Samajwadi party. BJP's Chandrabhanu Yadav garnered 87,935 votes so far against Ajit Prasad's 45,864 votes.
The Milkipur seat, located in the politically crucial Ayodhya district, has become a high-stakes contest between the Samajwadi Party and the BJP. This seat, part of the Faizabad Lok Sabha constituency, became vacant when the incumbent MLA, Awadhesh Prasad of the Samajwadi Party, was elected to Parliament.
In the bypoll, the Samajwadi Party nominated Ajeet Prasad, while the BJP selected Chandrabhanu Paswan. Ms. Paswan emerged victorious. In a post on X, Mr. Yadav accused the BJP of misusing election machinery to secure its win.
"The manipulation of officials needed to execute such election fraud can be done somehow in one Assembly seat, but this won't work in 403 seats. This victory is a lie, and the BJP would never be able to celebrate it fully. Their guilt and fear of defeat will give them sleepless nights," he said.
The Milkipur by-election became a major topic of discussion after both Yadav and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath spearheaded their parties' campaigns in the area. Former MLA Mr. Prasad, who gained attention for winning in Faizabad, home to Ayodhya, also worked tirelessly to secure a Samajwadi Party victory.
