PTC Web Desk: Panic gripped several private and government schools in Chandigarh on Friday after bomb threat messages were reported. The authorities, however, later confirmed that the threats appeared to be a hoax, with no suspicious object recovered from any campus.

According to official information, both the Chandigarh Police and other security agencies swiftly activated standard operating procedures immediately after receiving alerts. Police teams, bomb disposal squads and fire brigade personnel were deployed across affected institutions to ensure the safety of students and staff.

Among the private institutions that reported the threat were Shivalik Public School, Carmel Convent School, Banyan Tree School, Chitkara International School, Kundan Public School, AKSIPS-45, Vivek High School, St. John’s School, Gurukul Manimajra, Delhi Public School (DPS), 3BRD Air Force School, Ankur Public School (Sector 14), Ashiana Public School, and DC Montessori School.

The government schools that received similar threat messages included GMSSS-16, GMSSS-10, GMSSS-8, GMHS Dadumajra, GMSSS-21, GMHS-41, and GMHS-48.

Security teams carried out thorough inspections and sanitisation of all premises in accordance with established safety protocols. Officials stated that no explosives or suspicious materials were found during the searches.
