CBSE declares Class 10 results 2026, pass percentage improves to 93.70%; know where and how to check results
CBSE Class 10 results: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday announced the Class 10 results for the 2025–26 academic session, recording an overall pass percentage of 93.70%, a marginal increase from last year’s 93.66%.
The results have been declared nearly a month earlier than the usual mid-May timeline, reflecting the board’s faster evaluation process under the newly introduced two-board examination system, aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP). The CBSE evaluated approximately 1.6 crore answer sheets in a record time.
The Class 10 first session examinations were conducted from February 17 to March 11, 2026, in a single shift starting at 10:30 AM. Major subjects, including mathematics standard, were held during the initial phase of the schedule.
Students can access their results through the official CBSE website:
Visit the official website: results.cbse.nic.in
Click on “CBSE Class 10 Result 2026”
Enter roll number and date of birth
View and download the scorecard
In addition to the website, results are also available on digital platforms like DigiLocker and UMANG, ensuring smoother access amid heavy traffic.
The CBSE will provide digital academic documents such as mark sheets, migration certificates and skill certificates through its repository ‘Parinam Manjusha’. Printed certificates will be issued through schools after the second examination.
No Merit List, Improvement Option Available
Continuing its policy, the CBSE has not released any merit list to avoid unhealthy competition. However, merit certificates will be awarded to the top 0.1% performers.
Students dissatisfied with their performance or those placed in the compartment category can appear for the second board examination starting mid-May. Applications for the same begin from April 16.
One of the key highlights of this year is the flexibility introduced through the two-board system. Students who are not satisfied with their performance can opt for a second examination scheduled from May 15 to June 1, 2026.
Students can improve scores in up to three subjects
Those failing in two subjects will be placed in the compartment category
Students failing or absent in three or more subjects will need to reappear in 2027
The syllabus for the second session will remain unchanged.
The early declaration of results reflects CBSE’s move towards a more flexible and student-friendly evaluation system. The dual-exam format is aimed at reducing pressure and giving students a fair chance to improve performance within the same academic year.
