Case filed against SRA & Manohar employees for tainted samosas supplied to Pune auto firm
PTC News Desk: A significant uproar ensued as condoms, gutka, and stones were reportedly found in samosas supplied to a major automobile firm in Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune. The General Manager of the catering services company, responsible for supplying food to the canteen of the automobile major, promptly filed a case in response to the alarming discovery.
According to police sources on Monday, five individuals have been booked in connection with the incident. This includes two workers from a subcontracting firm tasked with supplying the contaminated samosas and three partners from another subcontracting firm that had previously been dismissed due to adulteration concerns.
The three partners allegedly orchestrated the placement of the two workers to tarnish the reputation of the firm that had secured the samosa contract, as per the police official's statement.
The subcontracting firm, Catalyst Service Solutions Pvt Ltd, entrusted the responsibility of providing food items to the automobile firm's canteen. However, the actual production of samosas was subcontracted to another company named Manohar Enterprises. On Saturday, employees of the automobile company made the disturbing discovery of condoms, gutka, and stones embedded within the samosas.

Upon interrogation of Manohar Enterprises' staff, it was revealed that two workers, identified as Firoz Shaikh and Vicky Shaikh, had allegedly concealed the objectionable items in the samosas. Consequently, a case was registered under IPC sections 328 (causing hurt by means of poison) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) against the accused.
Further investigation uncovered that the accused workers were employed by SRA Enterprises, and were directed by its partners to contaminate the food supplied by Manohar Enterprises. SRA Enterprises had been removed from the contract earlier following a similar incident involving a bandage found in one of their snacks. The partners of SRA Enterprises, namely Rahim Shaikh, Azhar Shaikh, and Majhar Shaikh, purportedly orchestrated the adulteration to besmirch the reputation of Manohar Enterprises.
As the investigation unfolds, one individual has been arrested, and authorities are diligently pursuing further leads in the case.
