PTC Web Desk: Lieutenant General Rahul R Singh, the Deputy Chief of Army Staff (Capability Development & Sustenance), has revealed that China gave real-time information to Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, a four-day military conflict launched by India in May. He also stated that Turkey extended key support to Pakistan, making it a three-front challenge for India.

Speaking at an event organised by FICCI in New Delhi, Lt Gen Singh said, "Pakistan was on the frontline, but China was providing them with real-time intelligence. Turkey also helped Pakistan during this operation." He added that while India was directly fighting Pakistan, both China and Turkey were playing important roles in the background.

The general explained that Pakistan mentioned India’s "important vector" during talks between military officials, which clearly showed China was sharing live surveillance data. “When DGMO-level talks were happening, Pakistan said they knew our vector was ready. This meant China was giving them real-time updates,” he said.

Lt Gen Singh also pointed out that 81% of Pakistan’s military hardware in the last five years came from China. “China is using Pakistan as a testing ground for its weapons. It’s like a live laboratory for them,” he said.

He referred to a Chinese strategy called “Kill with a borrowed knife”, implying that China prefers to use others, like Pakistan, to harm its rivals instead of direct involvement. “China stays behind the scenes, using Pakistan to hurt India while avoiding direct conflict,” he remarked.

He also spoke about Turkey’s open support for Pakistan during and after Operation Sindoor. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met Pakistani PM Shehbaz Sharif soon after the conflict and expressed strong solidarity. Both leaders discussed greater cooperation, including intelligence sharing and counter-terrorism efforts.

Operation Sindoor was launched by India on May 7, following a brutal terrorist attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 persons—mostly tourists—were killed by Pakistan-backed terrorists.

During the four-day operation, India carried out precision strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Over 100 terrorists were killed, according to Indian officials. In response, Pakistan used drones to target Indian areas, especially Jammu & Kashmir’s Poonch and Rajouri districts. At least 10 Indian civilians lost their lives in J&K and Punjab during the conflict.

A ceasefire was announced on May 10, with Pakistan reportedly reaching out within 48 hours of the Indian offensive to seek de-escalation.
